This week's prayer suggestions

Please give thanks...

  • for the children and young people in our church family; for their enthusiasm and their eagerness to learn about and follow Jesus;
  • for Anna and Simon, leading key parts of our children, youth and families ministry, and those who support them;
  • for the energy and commitment of all those involved in our Children’s Ministry;
  • for all the families, children and young people who come to our youth and children's events and activities.

...and pray...

  • that our children and young people might develop a love of reading the Bible, so that God can nourish and sustain them, especially when it is hard to follow Jesus;
  • that we will be good examples of Godly living, and encourage our children and young people to grow in faith and continue in discipleship.
  • that there will be many opportunities to include and involve our children and young people and their families in our life together, and learn from them.
  • that all who work with our children and young people will faithfully follow Jesus and know the love and power of God in all that they do.

The Lord's Prayer (Contemporary)

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

The Lord's Prayer (Traditional)

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.

A Prayer for the Church

O God, in whose sovereign power rests everything in heaven and earth, take hold of your church today that, in every parish in this Diocese, we may be led humbly in the paths of holiness and boldly in the ways of witness, that many may be found as new disciples of Jesus Christ and learn to live joyfully in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
