what we believe

We believe that we are called to be:

God-dependent

We believe God made everything, sustains everything and provides us with everything we have. We therefore are dependent on Him for all things. This should be seen through lifestyles of worship, where we put God first in our individual lives and our community life. Because we are reliant on God, prayer should be at the heart of our life together, as we trust God for all things and step out in faith for all that He asks us to do.

Jesus-centred

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, who reveals God to us. Through his perfect life, his death in our place, and his resurrection from the dead, we can be saved from our sin and its consequences through believing and trusting in all Jesus has done. In him we find true life, both now and for eternity. Our lives, therefore, should be totally centred on the person of Jesus Christ, as we follow him and live for him.

Spirit-led

We believe that God is active in his world today through His Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who is at work as we choose to follow Jesus, and as we seek to live fully for Jesus in response to his great love for us. The Spirit produces God’s fruit in our lives, equips us with gifts to serve others, and empowers us to live and witness for Jesus in His world. We therefore seek to be led by the Spirit in all we do, in order to be obedient to God for our future.

Bible-based

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, with ultimate authority over what we do. Through it, God has revealed Himself and His plans and purposes for our lives and His world. God’s Spirit takes the truth of God’s Word, and applies it deep into our lives, equipping us for everything we need to do. The Bible, therefore, provides the basis for our life together.

Mission-focused

We believe that God calls us to join in with his mission in the world. Our role is to share Jesus with everyone around us, through our whole lives. Mission is not an add-on extra for the church, but the prime reason we exist, so that others will know God’s love and respond to him. Since we now live in a post-Christian culture, everything we do needs to be done through the lens of mission.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday.
We are an Anglican church in the Diocese of Norwich. and our focus is 'Loving Jesus and Sharing His Love'. Our tradition is evangelical and each of our Sunday services has a different feel.

Where and When

We have two church buildings: Cromer Parish Church (dedicated to St Peter and St Paul) in the town centre (see map here), and St Martin's, Mill Road in the Suffield Park area of town.
We welcome everyone to worship Jesus with us at our Sunday services.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a lanyard.

Our services at the Parish Church are:

8:45am A traditional service of Holy Communion.
10:30am An informal service, including Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
CCKids (Cromer Church Kids) meet during this service.
6:30pm The Gathering, an informal service with inspiring worship and vibrant teaching - arrive early for refreshments before we start.

At St Martin's our Sunday services are at 10:30am.

Refreshments are served at the end of all our morning services, an ideal opportunity to meet people.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on arrival if you need help. There are toilets at the rear of the church, near the refreshments servery.

What about my children?

We run CCKids (Cromer Church Kids) for ages 0-11 in the church lounge (at the rear of church) during the 10:30am service at the Parish Church. When you arrive, look out for the leaders in orange CCKids polo shirts, to register your children.
All children stay with their families at the start of the service. The service leader will announce when it’s time for the younger members to go to CCKids.

During school holidays CCKids takes a break and the 10:30am service will be suitable for all ages.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
