Planning a school or other group visit

We welcome visits from schools and other groups.

Essential information

If you’re planning a school, or other group, visit to Cromer Parish Church, please read this information carefully. Then download and complete the Visit Planning form at the bottom of the page and email it to the address on the form.

The information you provide will help us to help you by making the most suitable arrangements for your visit, so that you have a safe, enjoyable and worthwhile time at the Parish Church. We offer support from experienced guides and have supporting information and resources for different age groups. To help us plan for your visit, we need the right information so that we can choose the right people to work with you and manage things effectively, especially during the busy summer months.

Groups must be supervised by an appropriate number of adults. This is your responsibility and we expect you to apply standard adult : child ratios, according to age, at all times – for the group overall and in any smaller groups.

When visiting, you should probably allow up to an hour to explore the church.

We have a pair of peregrine falcons nesting on the church tower, so the tower is closed to all visitors until further notice. We know this may disappoint many visitors, but it simply isn’t possible to climb the tower whilst the birds are there. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We have a large number of visitors and anyone planning to come with a group should contact Anne Cottingham (our School and Group Visits Coordinator) well in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements and avoid clashes with other groups and events. The best way to do this is by completing the Visit Planning form, below.

Please work carefully through the form, completing all details, before emailing it to our School and Group Visits Coordinator.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday.
We are an Anglican church in the Diocese of Norwich. and our focus is 'Loving Jesus and Sharing His Love'. Our tradition is evangelical and each of our Sunday services has a different feel.

Where and When

We have two church buildings: Cromer Parish Church (dedicated to St Peter and St Paul) in the town centre (see map here), and St Martin's, Mill Road in the Suffield Park area of town.
We welcome everyone to worship Jesus with us at our Sunday services.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a lanyard.

Our services at the Parish Church are:

8:45am A traditional service of Holy Communion.
10:30am An informal service, including Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
CCKids (Cromer Church Kids) meet during this service.
6:30pm The Gathering, an informal service with inspiring worship and vibrant teaching - arrive early for refreshments before we start.

At St Martin's our Sunday services are at 10:30am.

Refreshments are served at the end of all our morning services, an ideal opportunity to meet people.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on arrival if you need help. There are toilets at the rear of the church, near the refreshments servery.

What about my children?

We run CCKids (Cromer Church Kids) for ages 0-11 in the church lounge (at the rear of church) during the 10:30am service at the Parish Church. When you arrive, look out for the leaders in orange CCKids polo shirts, to register your children.
All children stay with their families at the start of the service. The service leader will announce when it’s time for the younger members to go to CCKids.

During school holidays CCKids takes a break and the 10:30am service will be suitable for all ages.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
